We have built an incredible team with a shared vision of patient care and a passion for medicine.
DR. NIELS DUA
New York Medical College
Niels Dua, MD, MS, obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of California and also completed his medical training at New York Medical College. He completed his internal medicine internship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and went on to complete his residency in Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident.
After his residency, Dr. Dua practiced in Connecticut and California before taking a position in the Emergency Department at New York Presbyterian/ Columbia University Medical Center, where he was also an Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia University. He coordinated research for the department and worked on the treatment of headaches in the Emergency Department, leading to two publications in national journals. He also had the highest patient satisfaction scores for 2006. Dr. Dua was (and is still currently) a staff member of the Metropolitan Hospital/ New York Medical College, where he received the Best Teacher award for 2009. He was also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Departments of Emergency Medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital /Weill Cornell, where he received the second highest patient satisfaction score in the department for 2010-2011.
Board certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Dua has helped train resident physicians for over a decade, while also instructing disaster drills and emergency medicine classes in several cities of his native country, India. Along with his colleagues, He looks forward to providing excellent, rapid quality care to the thriving multi-cultural communities of Astoria and Union Square.
Dr. Dua speaks Hindi and understands basic Spanish.
DR. ROBIN KIM
St. George’s University School of Medicine
Dr. Kim completed two residency programs in both internal medicine and emergency medicine as he is board certified in both specialties. Dr. Kim received his internal medicine training at The New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens and Lincoln Hospital of Medicine and Mental Services to complete his emergency medicine residency.
Dr Kim is an Assistant Professor Clinical Professor at Cornell Weill Medical School and teaches medical students and doctors in training at The New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens. His fourteen years at New York Hospital Medical center of Queens is reflective of his dedication to the medical students, doctors in training, patients and to the various communities of Queens.
Dr. Kim is committed to both Medical Missions and Christian faith-based leadership organizations. He traveled to North Korea to teach ultrasound techniques to the local physicians and deliver toys and medical supplies to both villages and orphanages. Dr. Kim hopes to take a more active role in providing aid to the impoverished and disenfranchised.
Dr. Kim is a member of American College of Emergency Physicians and was recently invited for fellowship to this organization.
DR. PATRICK KO
The Sophie Davis School of Bio Medical Education
Dr. Patrick Ko graduated from the Sophie Davis School of Bio Medical Education and continued to medical school at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He also finished his internal medicine internship at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan. Dr. Ko also went on to complete his residency in emergency medicine at Jacobi and Montefiore Medical Center located in the Bronx.
Dr. Ko worked as a full time Emergency Medicine Physician and as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mount Sinai Medical School. Dr. Ko was twice awarded the Best Teaching Doctor of the year by the emergency medicine residents at Mount Sinai Hospital. Upon leaving Mount Sinai Hospital, Dr. Ko moved on to the North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, to finish a one year fellowship in emergency ultrasound. After his training, he served as an Assistant Residency Director for many years in the emergency department, where he was responsible for recruiting and educating future emergency room doctors. Doctor Ko also worked part-time at the North Shore Forest Hills Hospital where he had the highest patient satisfaction scores for 2 years in a row at the North Shore Hospital System’s emergency department. His accomplished service has lead him to a nomination for North Shore Hospital’s “Doctor of the Year”.
Board certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Ko has written several articles in medical journals and has presented research in National Emergency Conferences. His interests includes emergency ultrasound and specialized emergency room treatments. Dr. Ko has helped set up urgent care centers in Flushing, Astoria and Manhattan, where he hopes to serve the community and dedicate himself by applying his wide knowledge in urgent care for patients. Dr. Ko also operates as the team physician to the NY Fury, a professional women’s soccer team in Long Island.
Dr. Ko fluently speaks both English and Korean, and he can understand basic Spanish.
DR. JEAN PAUL MENOSCAL
Albany Medical College
Dr. Jean-Paul Menoscal, MD earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the New York Institute of Technology where he graduated summa cum laude. He would later receive his Doctor of Medicine degree at Albany Medical College where he was also a recognized winner of the George C. Carter Memorial Award, for outstanding and dedicated service to the growth and development of the university’s Minority Affairs Program. During his emergency medicine residency at the Lincoln Health and Medical Center, Dr. Menoscal became the recipient of the Recognition for Outstanding Service to Pediatrics Award by the Department of Emergency Medicine in 2003.
Dr. Menoscal has served as an attending physician of the respective emergency medicine departments at the Lincoln Health and Medical Center and the New York Hospital of Queens respectively. He had also assumed a position as a Clinical Instructor in emergency medicine for the Lincoln Health and Medical Center where his efforts was credited with the Recognition of Outstanding Service to the Residency Program award in 2007. Dr. Jean-Paul Menoscal became the Department Chairman of Emergency Medicine in the Saint Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in 2008. He is also active in volunteer work as a Medical Director and Mentor of various charitable programs such as the National Hispanic Scholarship Fund and the Montgomery Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
Board certified in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Jean-Paul Menoscal is an active physician of Urgent Medical Care in Astoria and he is committed to providing the best possible service for the Queens community. Patients would also be pleased to know that Dr. Menoscal extensive expertise in emergency medicine is also complemented with certifications in ALCS, ATLS and PALS. Besides Dr. Menoscal’s proficiency in all things medical, he also has a strong interest in scuba diving, baseball, dogs, and chess (as a candidate master).
Dr. Jean-Paul Menoscal is a fluent Spanish speaker.
